I went to the Mall of America today. It's the largest mall in the country in terms of retail space with over 520 stores and 50 restaurants although it is only the second largest in terms of total enclosed floor area with the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania holding the number one spot. The walking distance around one level is over half a mile and there are three complete levels and two partial levels. In addition to the shopping and restaurants the mall has an amusement park in the middle, an aquarium, a miniature golf course, a mirror maze, a comedy club, a ropes course and a bowling alley.

I must admit, I was a little disappointed in the Mall. It has some unique features, such as the amusement park and the aquarium, and it has a huge number of stores but they're almost entirely the sort of chain stores you expect to find in a mall. There were a couple surprises, such as the magic shop, but, overall, it's not as different as I expected. Maybe that's because I frequently shop at Tyson's Corner Mall, which as the 11th largest shopping mall in the country is closer in scale than I realized.

Malls are just Beach Boardwalks w/o the Sun, Sand and Water. You buy things and eat fattening foods.
