I've been at Keystone for a week now.  I've skied every day.  I didn't ski a lot the first three days, due to a combination of late starts, lack of acclimatization and mediocre conditions, but I got some decent days in the last four days of the week.  Many of the days have been quite windy, which has resulted in portions of the mountain being closed some days.  Altogether, according to the EpicMix system, I've skied just a shade under 300,000 feet of vertical.

I continue to have trouble getting the EpicMix system to record everything.  I'm told the lift that most often misses people is the Santiago chair, which is the one I most often ski.  I carry my season pass in a pocket on the sleeve of my jacket and I've started trying to remember to wave my arm at the sensor as I pass under it.  I think it helps.

I managed to ski nearly a million feet of vertical two years ago with no falls.  Unfortunately, I've had two falls already this year.  The first was due to someone running into me.  The second was due to a bad trail selection.  I've skied the Diamondback trail in the past and remember it being groomed.  Well, they aren't grooming it now.  It was icy moguls with a little powder on top; a terrible combination for me.  I carefully made my way down but still twisted out of my bindings once.  It was a very minor fall but it was a fall.  I'll try to stick to the groomed runs.  And I'll definitely avoid Diamondback.
