Last night, Friday, 5/21/10, I went to two Las Vegas shows.  The first was the magician Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo.  He is very good and it was never obvious how he did any of the tricks.

The next show was Cheech & Chong at the Mirage.  I wasn't sure what to expect from them.  Well, they, predictably, still did a lot of drug humor.  They also used some of their old bits, usually as a starting point for new material.  It was a fun show.

I had breakfast with a friend Jim and I met last year at the top of Wheeler Peak, the highest point of New Mexico.  He was hiking alone and wound up walking down with us and we had lunch together the following day.  We mentioned that the following day we were going to Black Mesa, the highest point of Oklahoma.  Sometime after lunch he decided that sounded interesting and he drove there and hiked it too.  Unfortunately, we were a few hours ahead of him so we missed him there but we've kept in touch with e-mail.  Today we the first time I've seen him since so we had a lot of catching up to do and talked until noon.

Tonight I have tickets for Viva Elvis, the new Cirque du Soleil show, and X Burlesque, a typical Las Vegas revue.
