We decided to get married on our trip, and couldn't think of a better place than Thailand - good value for money with a beautiful setting. Our friend Sly turned us on to La Flora Resort Patong on the island of Phuket. A brand new 5 star resort, La Flora is right on the beach in central Patong. Through the magic of good connections, we got an incredible deal, and stayed at a resort that costs literally thousands of dollars a night for just a tiny fraction of their normal rates.

We had a suite overlooking the ocean, with a private swimming pool - the accomodations were spectacular. The food was great, and the staff were just incredible. They really made us feel like family with all that they did for us. Many members of the staff even came out to our ceremony, on their own time in their best clothes to be there with us.

We were married right on the beach (complete with gawkers in speedos) at sunset. There were raging thunderstorms that cleared up just long enough for the setup and ceremony, before starting up again. Seems like good luck to us!

Hey Matt and Terri,

It's Tara from Montreal, we met last year in Interlaken. I've been following your travels, admittedly somewhat on the sly, as I never registered to leave comments, but I thought this occasion merited my registration. Congratulations! Your wedding looked beautiful! I wish you both all the happiness in the world and continued good luck on the rest of your voyage, as I continue to follow it enviously from my desk in Montreal...

Hi guys its Charlie (YOUR EVIL BRO). I wanted to tell you 2 how happy we are for getting hitched. Tye said you look BEAUTIFUL AUNTIE. And he also says 'how come you and mommy dont do that' Ill explain to him later in life why marriage is EVIL! (just kidding) I wanted to tell you that we miss you and love you guys and hope a safe and happy journey.

Hey Tara. Glad to hear you've been following us and enjoying our entries. Thanks for the nice wishes. We really did have a blast at the wedding - everything was perfect.
Now, we're homesick, and broke, so we'll be heading back to good old Ontario. Back to real life, and such.
We'll probably make it out to Montreal this summer - maybe we could get together?
