Luxembourg City is just downright cute. It is this tiny little place, built into the side of a hill, with the upper part of town, containing the castle and downtown about 50 metres higher than the lower bit. Just walking around the city, you can see the money. Luxembourg is filthy stinking rich. It has the highest GDP in the world, and it shows! The city has been around in one form or another for over 1000 years, and has been coveted by many different countries. Because of this, the many rulers, and several conquerors, built up all sorts of walls and tunnels to protect the city. We took a tour through two sets of Casemates as they call the tunnels, and got a bit of history about the town. That really about covers it. It was nice to visit, but I can't imagine spending more than 2 days there. The Youth Hostel was pretty good, with a free breakfast and comfortable beds. I'm really reaching now to write more about Luxembourg. Oh well...I'm sure the next entry will be more interesting.

Next stop: Prague, Czech Republic. Stay tuned...
