From Lisa:
On a short list of places to come back to visit, this one is definitely close to the top! We're staying a hostel (or guest house as they are called here) used mainly for folks who are volunteering in the Barcelona (BCN) area. It is a beautiful place! Sitting on the balcony in the common room, overlooking one of the busier streets in BCN, huge windows and hardwood floors -- not at ALL what I expected from a hostel. :-)
We did the typical touristy stuff - took the open "double-decker" bus and wrote down all the places we wanted to come back to. Our "big" night out in BCN we decided to take in a Flamenco Show and dinner. It was fabulous! We filmed a short video of one of the dancers. Hope you enjoy it!
From Cheryl:
Two friends suggested that we NOT miss BCN.. Absolutely right! It was a very nice, clean, easy city to get around. The place where we saw the Flamenco Dancers was in a small village near where the summer Olympic games were held in 1992. The village was created specifically for the Olympics and is now used as a nice place to go for a night out. There are many shops and restaurants and the night we were there we saw about 7 bachelorette parties and one bachelor party. The place to be! The show was fabulous and the video clip will only give you a glance at the talent these men and women have.
