Searching for Leonardo's ghost!

Our stop in Vinci was to see if we could catch a glimpse of Leonardo Da Vinci's presence somewhere in the town where he was born and grew up. The olive groves with their dusky leaves lined the hillsides along with the grapevines of the Chianti region. From the view of his birthplace, it was easy to see why this man wanted to fly! The views were incredible in all directions...soaring trees, hills, and the seemingly limitless horizon. A beautiful Tuscan landscape. We visited the museums and learned more of his life, took lots of notes, and walked the same paths he would have as child. Vinci is a town of friendliness and beauty -- a place I would definitely visit again!

Driving though the town on Greve in the Chianti region, we found a wine shop that offered over 100 wines to taste!! They gave you a card and you tried whatever you wanted to taste. It was awesome!! I didn't want to leave! :-)
