Late departure as someone who had checked his luggage didn't show for the flight. We waited while his luggage was removed from the hold. I'd rather wait than have a bomb on board. It was rush seats. Seats are not assigned on the Boarding Pass. We had registered as Express Boarding ($1) extra so we got the front row. I've never been in the front row of a plane before.
20 min. cab ride to the Best Western Supelei. It's a new hotel not even on the map. Nice hotel on a hill on the northeast corner of the island with a great view of the islands across the bay. The driveway is like driving straight up a mountain. The nice beaches are on the other side of the island though. A long way from everything too.
After a morning swim we took the free shuttle into town. Well actually a mall on the outskirts. Apparently many of the downtown shops areclosed on Sundays. 4 ½ hours was a bit too much at one place. I used the time to get a haircut. Dinner and more shopping then ½ hour back on the shuttle through a thunderstorm.
April 7th same as the 6th except this time we took the shuttle then a local bus to Patong Beach. Busy, lots more people but I like where our resort is. We'll have a quiet place to stay and pay for cabs when necessary. Tomorrow snorkelling by Phi Phi Island.

Nice way to get around. Love the picture of Cheryl in the Tuk Tuk. Enjoy the cheap travel now, with gas prices up over 1.11 and climbing....it'll cost you a lot more to get around when you get back.
Don't know how you got anywhere near those snakes. Just the thought makes me shiver.
Keep up with the updates and I'll try to keep up with reading them.
Not much longer and Kim will be there with you.
