Tuesday the 12th. Day 16? a long drive down from Dargaville. Check a map. The island narrows right at Auckland so pretty well everything has to go through Auckland. With construction and on and off rain it took about 6 hours including a break for a Mongolian Grill lunch (Very tasty) to get down near Waitomo. All of the tours of the caves are booked for tomorrow so we've changed our plans. We'll go to Rotorua (boiling mud pots, geisers, hot springs) tomorrow and tour. Cheryl will stay there and recuperating from your mossie/ sand flea bites, take a walking tour of the Maori sites and hang around the pool while I join a cave tour (the Haggas Honking Holes 4 hrs. of abseiling 100m down waterfalls, rock climbing, and crawling up to see the gloworms close up). No photos allowed but I'm sure I can buy postcards. You'll have to take my word that I did it!

Hope my pictures uploaded yesterday. It should have but the computer froze. All is well. Having a great time and making lots of memories. Send e-mails we love to hear from you.

Did the mud pots work?
Cheryl, Hope the boiling mud pots, geisers and hot springs helped your recovery; I'm sure they didn't hurt. Sounds like the life of luxury.

Did you enjoy your cave tour Paul? Hope you didn't find yourself claustrophobic. It sounded like a day you may need some relaxation after.

Keep on enjoying!

Love J & C
