Feb 8th, Day 12(?) I'm on holiday mode and have lost track. Sorry about the pictures. Planned to do it yesterday (the 6th) before the International dateline but the server was down, Don't know how much of my $15 was left on the card.
Rarotonga is paradise but a long way from everything, no wireless phones, no collect calls except to NZ. I could have used VOIP but didn't. Spent the day instead poolside with our new-found friends Jo and Ron and from Engand finishing up our wine and beer. We've met lots of people all pleasant - mostly Kiwis (they go to Rarotonga like we go to Florida), Aussies, more Brits, a few Canucks, some colleens from Ireland were hostelling. One Brit on the plane was doing a lot of what we're doing but where we spend a week he's spending a month. There was a girl from Estonia and a couple from Italy also and we overheard some Dutch or German on the bus. Colleens from Irelamd, a couple from Norway. There was one chap on his computer talking to the Dutch West Indies and the Netherlands.
Today we did the On-Off Bus in Aukland with a couple from Stratford Ontario. Lovely views of the harbours trendy shops and a bungy jumper from about 1000 feet up. I got the jump on film. Had dinner with them but they were flagging. No sleep except on the plane (fitfull) for 36 hours. Had a terrific italian meal in Ellerslie then back here to the computer.
Tomorrow we rent a car to drive (on the wrong side of the road up near the top od the North Island (Paihia) 3 hours north thenwe'll work our way down south.
Before my free time runs out I hope to attach some photos from the Cook Islands.

Bed & Breakfast?
With all the new friends you are meeting you'll be able to open a Bed & Breakfast for when they come to visit.
While you've been busy in paradise we've been busy shoveling. Retirement....sounding better by the second. Enjoy!
