One week to go. The bags are (almost) packed. We're close to the weight restrictions. All plane flights are booked, most hotels (except inland China) are booked and we're getting excited (and a little bit scared). What if???? etc. At least we're starting off in countries whose language is English (if we can get through the accents). I've been following the exploits of other travellers through this site and have more ideas of what we can be doing....ATVs, Snake Charmers, Elephant Ride and a cabaret show in Phuket put on entirely by Lady Boys (transvestites). Still don't know exactly what we'll be doing in New Zealand, we're going to rent a car, pick up brochures and wander. People say that 2 weeks in NZ are not enough and that may be so but we're away for long enough already. So many places to go, so little time. Maybe I should have started this retirement thing earlier. Cheryl didn't like the picture so I'll have to find another one.
I'll try to update at least once a week.

New Zealand
Pack lightly!! You need an empty suitcase for souvenirs!! And you don't really ever need all that stuff.
Am looking forward to following your travels - safe journey. Have fun!

You picked a good time to leave
Cheryl / Paul,
Ottawa and Toronto got hammered today with snow, freezing rain and high winds. Typical February day.
We are glad that you are having a great time and enjoy reading about your adventures.
Take Care,
Cindy and John
