My first art history class at West Chester Univ led me to discover modern Brazilian architecture. I have since dreamed of visiting the new capital Brasilia to view in person the spectacular concrete and steel structures designed by Oscar Neimeyer. Well, my free weekend on this trip afforded me the opportunity. My hosts at the Abbott Brazil office facilitated a truely awesome tour for me. I flew from Sao Paulo to Brasilia and was met by a tour guide and driver for a personal tour of all the major government buildings and chapels that I could name. We had lunch at a Brazilian charascria (steak house) when I also had my first Caipirinha. Deliscious!
