Day 13 - Baron Rothschild Park and Caesarea
The well rich Baron Rothschild heavily funded the Zionists in the holy land during the British mandate in Jordan and way before the implementation of the state of Israel. He started a generous cash flow that sent him close to bankruptcy and could only be stemmed by his heirs. He did do a lot for the Jews and as a memorial they put him to rest in Zikhon Ja'akov amidst a beautiful landscaped garden and a spacious park littered with old Roman Ruins inviting nature revellers to leisurely strolls.
Afterwards we went back to Caesarea to take a last dip in the Mediterranean by the aqueduct (well, this time Regine, Steffen and Udo) while I danced around Eva maniacally, sporting my new arabo-judaic friendship dance to the glorious chant of "Cherutim - aayayayaay!!!"(to be sung in your gayest falsetto and con passione!) - yes it's nice when you're able to let your hair down around the in-laws...The scene was even more surreal if you picture a platoon of heavily armed soldiers combing the beach for trash around us.
In the evening we were invited for yet another feast at Hanna and David's. The meat survived several major catastrophes on, in and under the grill and still turned out to be delicious.
