A tasteless title but apt, cos he was. Actually he got shot here so technically, if you believe in spirits hanging around and stuff, he probably still is here in a way. In Dallas that is.

Arrived here after almost 300 miles of freeway. Boring.com! But found the hotel straight away and checked in (after some kerfuffle about smoking/non smoking rooms) no probs. Got a cab into Dallas for dinner which was also good - BBQ of course! We went to Sonny Bryans Smokehouse which is famous for it's pit smoked and cooked brisket, and the second Man vs Food restaurant that we've hit. It was good, I had pulled pork and briskit sandwich and wenham had briskit and ribs which were enormous! I can say that even though you pay for it through Americas ridiculous tipping culture, the service here is so much better than in England. Definitely 1-0 America.

Also did a carriage ride around town and the nice Texan who took us gave us his number to call if we wanted to go up to the range to shoot his gun! Awesomeeeee! But I think he wanted to do it tomorrow, and as we drove all this way to go to the State Fair tomorrow, we probably can't :(

Back at the hotel for air con, beer and tv and an early night ready for tomorrow :)

I like Texas so far, lets see what tomorrow brings!

Any suggestions on where to hit between here and New Orleans would also be welcome ;)

You're gonna go through Cajun country! You have to try some andouille sausage!
How was the fair? What did you eat? I'm living vicariously through you!

PS - just so we don't have another AR-KAN-SAW situation, it is pronounced
AN-DOO-EE Sausage :)
