HURRAH! We have finally booked flights for America!

Having spent what felt like an eternity in Thomas Cook last weekend, we got ourselves some quotes, had a think and finally booked it today!

Bit of a tricky one from what I understand; we have Thomas Cook vouchers you see, but the quotes they were giving us were considerably more expensive than Internet ones. The first was 1,500 for return flights (in Chicago, out New Orleans), 2 nights stay in Chicago and 3 nights in New Orleans. I suppose not too bad, but at the time flights in Opodu were around 100 cheaper per person. Anyway, long story short, we left it too late to get a good deal on the net, so have booked flights and the aforementioned hotels with Thomas Cook. They wanted to charge us about 800 for car hire (a 500 drop off charge because of the multiple cities!!), so we're doing that ourselves through Quidco - cash back hurrah! I've also signed us up for a Wyndham rewars card, which will come in handy when booking hotels along the way.

I am so excited I can barely breath. I have small palpatations of excitement whenever I think about it, and the project manager in me is salivating at the thought of organising an itinerary and researching things to do and places to see!

So far on the list we have a) eat a lot b) Graceland c) Louisiana swamp tour, and I think thats it!

Suggestions of things to do - especially quirky roadside attractions - always welcome! I think we'll be tripping through Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and Louisiana!

Exciting times!
