The bus system in Turkey is truly amazing, it would seem there are buses going to all corners of the country at all times of the day, and probably night too!

From Kiyikoy we took a minibus to Vize, then another to Saray, followed by yet another to Kesan - at no time did we manage to catch our breath, or carry our bags as they were deftly slung from one bus to another by the super-helpful bus conductors, and sometimes passengers too! After a brief wait in Kesan we were soon on our final bus to Canakkale complete with tea, coffee, a bow-tie clad conductor and a ferry across the Dardanelles.

Our stay in Canakkale was rather mixed, being a combination of a moving visit to Gallipoli's battlefields and cemeteries and enjoying the nightlife of a bustling town - the highlight of which was a bar filled with groups playing cards, backgammon or Okay (a little like Rumicube I think?) - this bar would be Saby's idea of heaven!
