The last couple of days have been a nightmare! We couldn't afford to stay at the Holiday Inn so at the next oppertunity we made resurvations at the Minden Hotel for half the price we were currently paying. Unfortunately our bank decided to scew us over by freezing both our accounts. We didn't realise until after we had checked out of the Holiday Inn and we couldn't get the money out to pay for our new accomondation! We had been drawing money out throughout China but our accounts were not flagged until we got to Hong Kong - how rubbish is that! We then had to pay a very hefty phone bill to contact Lloyds TSB and un freeze our accounts. Both of us had been to our local braches to inform them we were abroad for three months and yet they don't keep reccords for this. Now, even though our accounts have been un frozen we still run the risk of having our accounts flagged again after 30 days have past!
Anyway, its all sorted now so we can relax (for the next 30 days). After having the continental breakfast included with our accomondation, we got the subway to Hong Kong Island and caught the ferry to Lamma Island. Appart form the large coal power station attatched to the side of the Island, its acutally really beautiful and made an excilent hide away from the hussle and bussle of Kowloon. We went on the nature walk across the Island visiting the beaches along the way. Not the place for swimming though - if the sharks don't get you, the polution will! Apart form that its the first place in China that we have seen wildlife - probably due to the fact that there is no cars on the Island.
