We woke up to watch the sunrise over Halong Bay. This was accompained by a fantastic buffet breakfast. This was our first encounter with Dragon Fruit. It looked funky and it tasted wonderful. Bob was eying up Weeble's piece but he rescued it just in time!

The morning consisted of boarding a smaller craft which would take us to different activities and also drop us off at Cat Ba Island. First stop was Waterworld. We jumped ship onto a make shift floating pontoon and then gingerly got in the Kayak. Bob was first, Weeble ready with the camera!! We made it sucessfully into the Kayak and we directed ourselves towards the Lagoon which we would enter under a v.low archway of limestone. Once we had circled the lagoon and lost the rest of the tour we decided it would be a good time to find them. They were located on a small beach (apparently Monkey Island) and were swimming by the time we arrived. Weeble joined them but Bob played in the Rock Pools.

We boarded the boat which took us to a small island on which we had lunch. We all settled down around a table on a seculded beach. After being given the option to stay on the beach for 2 hours or having a bit of a cycle we decided to board the boat and get some exercise. The beach was too small to just crash there for 2 hours with no protection from the sun.

We headed back and boarded again our small boat before heading to the Nature Reserve. We collected our bikes and proceeded into the centre of the island. The bikes were rubbish - no working gears, dodgy stands, and when Weeble tried to show off the handlebars almost came off! The Island was beautiful and we went on a small walk through the jungle and a cave. The cave was full of snail shells and probably some big spiders so Weeble quickly made his exit. Closely followed by Bob. We headed back to the boat after this.

Final stop was Cat Ba itself where we settled down to a seafood fenzy. Weeble domishling the squid and other things he didn't know about. Bob having a more traditional meal as she asked for no seafood.
