Yesterday we just got up and had breakfast out on the restaurant balcony before embarking on our long journey by boat and bus, back to Hanoi. After we were dropped off at the Hotel, we grabbed some food and crashed.
Today though we were up at 6am!!! yes mum 6am!!! We had breakfast at the Hotel before hiking our way to the Vietnamese airlines office to catch the airport bus that runs every two hours out side of it. For 2USD it was a pleasant 45 minute journey.
We were not departing till 11am but we thought we would try to check in anyway. To our surprise they checked us in and arranged for us to go on the 9:15am flight instead! Only a half hour wait and we were off! We had seats next to each other and at the exit above the wing so plenty of leg room. We also got breakfast included - pork, rice, yogurt, orange juice and tea, all at the price of 45 pounds a ticket!
We touched down to extreme heat! Bob doesn't do so well in heat. We caught the bus from the airport into town for 3000Dong each and were dropped off where 'Mini Hotel alley' is located. We hadn't booked due to previous experience so we had a look at a room and took it for one night at the Bee Hostel. It has a double bed, satellite TV, a shower with a screen and western style toilet, but most importantly it has a massive balcony with two sun loungers! all for 35USD a night!
