The Hutong In was still planning to charge us the same rate even though
the national holiday was over so we decided to move. We went on
the subway to Qianmen and walked down meishijie, turning right onto
dashilan xijie to find the 365 Inn. It had free Internet access
(only two computers though), fantastic restaurant but a very basic
room. When we went to put our stuff in our room and have a look
round, we noticed the bathroom door was hanging off its
hinges. Bob promptly went to complain and it was fixed but the
time we returned that evening
We grabbed some food from a street stand and met Francis outside the
entrance to the Forbidden city. She was also visiting David and
Gale in zhengzhou, the same as we had planned. We walked around
for hours trying to find a tourist information center to book tickets
for the great wall. You would think there would be quite a few in
around the Forbidden city but we found none. Rather than walking
back to the one near our previous hostel, we opted to go to Francis's
hotel and see what they had to offer. In the end we booked a tour
that took us to the great wall and the Ming toombs. Unfortunately
it ment we had to be at the hotel by seven in the morning!!!
Early night then.
