After having a typical breakfast of toast and jam and orange marmalade,
the three of us finally left the Ryokan at around 11ish. We walked to
the Kiyomizu temple. It was really cool! But yes of course lots and
lots of walking hehehe. I tried the Kyoto style of Okonomiyaki which
had beef and egg in it...I prefer the original Okonomiyaki. It wasn't
bad just not my favorite, and way way way too much negi. We hopped on
another bus to Kinkakuji and finally made it there in about half an
hour. OMG! The beauty of this temple was blinding! We had definitely
chosen the right time to go because the sun's rays caused the golden
structure to shimmer ^_^. Roxy and I discovered at the end that we
could have snuck in the back way to the temple without paying, but oh
well. Live and learn! We hopped off the bus early in an attempt to walk
to the Manga museum. No we didn't make it there hahaha. but It was
still fun, an adventure of sorts. On the way we passed two Daiso's...I
really wanted to go in but I knew we were pressed for time. We had
pizza manju for dinner again and then headed back to Gion and finally
found our way to Gion corner where we watched Tea Ceremony, listened to
Koto music, observed Ikebana, experienced Gagaku (Court Music), enjoyed
Kyogen(Ancient Comic Play) and even witnessed Kyomai (Kyoto Style
Dance). It was very cool! Afterwards we even took pictures with the
Maiko dancers. We wandered back to Kyoto Station and hit another little
cafe to have dinner at. I had a decent hot chocolate for once! Oh and
had chicken karaage spaghetti as well as a fruit salad. Yummy! I also
tried anmitsu (bean dessert) but I wasn't a huge fan of that. After
dinner we went back to the inn and after lots of talking went to sleep.
