Christmas Party Weekend! So on Saturday the weather was so nice that I
walked around rather than biking. I had lunch with Tomomi, Emily and
Sasaki Sensei at Apita. I wasn't too hungry so I had the children's
udon, and I even got a toy and a naruto that had pikachu on it hahaha. After lunch Tomomi and I got Christmas Mister Donut (she got chocolate
and I got strawberry) and then we headed back to Tomomi's house. The
first difficulty we encountered with the baking was the fact that in
Japan they measure in grams hahaha. I only knew the metric
measurements. We eventually figured it out. I was rolling out the
cookies and Tomomi, Kyoko and I were cookie cutting them. I think it
was too much, eventually they got bored and then Tomomi had to drive
Kyoko to work so we put the rest of the maanderlai dough and the
gingerbread dough in the fridge to do the next day. Tomomi taught me
the Japanese words for Christmas songs! Like Rudolph and Jingle Bells,
it was so much fun ^_^. Had rainbow dinner :D It was delicious ^_^ (go
check my new album if you want to see pictures of it, this means you
Eden!). After dinner Sasaki gave us an advent calendar to open. I've
never had so much trouble with an advent calendar before. The numbers
were creatively blended into the pictures for the dates so we kept
opening the wrong dates haha. Eventually we got all the right dates
open :P. Sasaki's neighbour came to show us her origami creations, it
was really cool listening to her stories since I actually understood a
lot ^_^. I was hoping she would teach us some origami but she has
arthritis now so I think that's why she didn't teach us? I'm not sure.
Kyoko came back after 10:30 and Tomomi, Kyoko and I had movie night
^_^. Kyoko and I both ate more food hahaha. We finished watching
"Blizzard" and then we watched Kitaro! OMG it was such an awesome
movie!!! After that we looked at pictures that Tomomi had taken and
then Kyoko wanted to decorate her phone, I tried to stay awake but she
took a long time deciding and Tomomi let me just go to sleep. An hour
and a half later, Kyoko and Tomomi went to sleep hahaha.
Sunday morning I woke up at around 8 and so we had bagels for
breakfast, and cauliflower and more purple stuff with sweet potatoes.
Oh and of course lots of fruit, Yay! Kyoko decided to make ginger snap
type cookies instead of the gingerbread men, because she didn't want to
roll them out.
So the baking took hardly any time and then Kyoko had to go to
work again. Tomomi and I hung out most of the day watching the Polar
Express, eating the leftover food, decorating more cookies. It was a
lazy Sunday but it was fun ^_^.
