Onimanju and
Persimmons
Onimanju and Persimmons

Monday I woke up and after having breakfast, actually studied for an
hour and a half. I worked on the grammar booklet and then had ramen for
lunch. I decided to make good use of my time and make all my scrap
pieces of paper into squares. Then I found a green marker and colored
them and made a few of them into origami wreaths. I hope to decorate
the classroom with the scraps. All I need is markers to color them
afterwards ^_^. I tried to study history and fell asleep after one
chapter. There has to be a better way to learn this stuff...in any case
for dinner we had Shabu Shabu! Which is where you cook super thin
slices of meat in boiling water. SO simple, but so delicious!

Tuesday I went to the school early and started cleaning the room, then
had Aoyama's English teaching class. It was all review, an extremely
boring class sadly. After class three of the students Yuki, Yuki and
Haruka wanted to practice their english with us. Well what actually
ended up happening was we traded contact information and Emily, Roxy
and I ended up getting to practice our Japanese. Next time, it will be
their turn to practice English. After lunch Roxy and I rode our bikes
to the 99 yen store, and got tons of snacks like popcorn, senbei,
chocolate, and even ice cream bars 3 for 99 yen :P. We also got
Christmas decorations including a mini Christmas tree and even lights
for the tree. Again all of this was 99 yen, and for those who haven't
figured that out yet, we practically got all these things for $1 each
^_^. We got back to the school and I had my 99 yen ice cream sundae
that I'd bought separately. and it was like Mcdonald's ice cream but
better because on top it was the soft serve vanilla ice cream with
chocolate parts and the bottom was frosted malt! Definitely worth it
^_~. I went to Cooking Club afterwards and helped make Onimanju,
although this one looks different from the first one I made. Still good
though! The students were really helpful and I was able to practice a
lot of my Japanese for once. I also randomly got 4 persimmons. Yay for
fruit :D. Dinner was more fish, daikon, (but it was shredded so I liked
it better this way?) donburi I think? and of course salad.

Wednesday we had cloth dying class where I sewed a design for us to dye
next week, not sure if I really want to do the tye-dye t-shirt or not
though...doesn't seem worth it. Roxy and I went to the 99 yen store
again and got some more snacks. Dinner was an egg omelette,
salad,eggplant and pork kimchi.

Thursday we had a surprise quiz with Nishio, luckily most of the kanji
I knew from before. But I really need to study more. I forgot kai and
dai...*hits herself* must study, must study. Dinner was potato salad,
chow fun...so not like my mom's, very Japanese as opposed to Chinese

Friday we watched the Rakugo in English, learned about the Heian period
in Nishio's class and for dinner I had sweet and sour chicken, salad,
rakyo and of course rice.
