So Friday we read the comic of one of the Rakugo's stories, and then we
watched a movie about a Rakugo performing in all different parts of the
US. Interesting movie but Yamaguchi kept stopping and starting it so it
was hard to follow. I didn't really have lunch, just snacked a lot. The
first half of Nishio's class was a bit over my head, with all the talk
about Confucianism, but the Buddhism stuff was a lot easier to follow.
I'm trying to pay attention in that class, really I am, it's just
difficult...I went home and had the leftovers of the cream soup that
reminds me of clam chowder but sweeter for lunch. Kozue came to visit
as well and then my host mom came and gave us these fish shaped pastry
snacks, that have bean paste in them and then to my great
delight...CHEESE! So yes it was a very yummy snack. Friday also turned
out to be my host parents anniversary so after having red miso beef,
salad, mushroom dish we celebrated with this really rich creamy cake
that had little pieces of strawberries, peaches and oranges on it. It
was so good! I only had one piece though. That ends Friday night.
Saturday was my extremely lazy day, I had my grilled cheese sandwich
for breakfast and then for lunch I had ramen and my host mom also gave
me korokke so I had more than enough for lunch. Didn't leave the house
though, tried to study but got distracted and figured out one of the
origami models I hadn't had a chance to do. It was so easy! Anyways,
had okonomiyaki for dinner. It was delicious! Then I played with Raiki
after dinner first with his trains and then with Lego. It was lots of
fun, and I even got to have a mandarin afterwards. Yay for fruit! haha.
So yup, that was Saturday.
Sunday I woke up and didn't do too much, left my house around 2:30ish
and met up with Roxy in Okazaki Park. We explored a bit of it and also
watched this dance competition of some sort. Really cool, but not sure
what type of dance it was. Then Roxy had the brilliant idea to go to
the new library that had opened. It was so pretty! Although it was
super crowded, so many students were in there studying. I randomly
found the origami section and looked through some of the books. A lot
of them have English in addition to the Japanese! So I'm gonna
definitely look into getting a library card. I showed Roxy where the 99
yen store was. I got fleece gloves! and strawberry flavored toothpaste
haha. Roxy got some snacks. We plan to go back there to buy snacks so
we can have snacks at school. Roxy really wanted a burger but there
wasn't a Mcdonald's in sight. We ended up going to the Circle K by my
house and ironically Roxy found the burgers...but they were cold, and
we were freezing. We wanted something warm. I had a pizza bun! It was
so good! I totally could have had more than one haha. I parted ways
with Roxy and when I got home there was nobody home. My host mom was
sweet enough to leave dinner for me on the table so I had this big
plate of chow fun (so not the same as Mom's) some udon and naruto and
these onion fried things. Safe to say, I definitely had enough dinner
that night. I did yoga before sleeping, on a whim. and well yes I ended
up having a very peaceful sleep ^_^.
