OMG so I know i haven't updated in the past four days or so, truth is I've been lazy. Sunday was weird, I went to have lunch with the family downstairs and for some reason me, Kozue, Tomomi and my host mom shared one fish, whereas Kozue's husband had one fish to himself. I found it odd, there was also some nabe soup but it was weird because there was one piece of fish that nobody touched...and I was still hungry after lunch lol. I had to go up to my room and snack afterwards. Oh well. I also finally cleaned my bedroom, it's nice to have a clean room again. Had ramen noodles (black ones...it was interesting), two eggs over easy, some spicy tofu mixture and salad.
Monday Sasaki took us out for lunch to this Italian restaurant called Cannery Row. I had pink salmon/shrimp spaghetti with cream sauce, lots of caesar salad and even a couple desserts. For some reason even after all that food I was still hungry...but still it was a good lunch. In Yamaguchi's class we watched the Japanese comedians called Rakugo however we watched the English translations. SO FUNNY! Dinner wasn't anything special, some chicken thing I think.
Tuesday for Aoyama's class I didn't feel as helpful since all my students were fine with their pronounciation. It was Roxy's birthday and after a long delay we finally headed to Kanayama, for some reason both Roxy and I didn't feel like eating much so for dinner we went to this little coffee shop where I had a hot chocolate and a ham and cheese sandwich while Emily wanted to have unagi. We then headed for Osu street and I was able to buy Roxy her birthday present so Yay! Afterwards we went for Karaoke in Kanayama! So much fun! And it only cost us $7 each for one hour. I thought that was cheap but apparently for karaoke that's expensive. Still tons and tons of fun! We sang Disney Songs, BSB, Aqua, Anime songs. It was AWESOME! We also got Roxy a little cupcake to serve as her birthday cake.
Wednesday we didn't even have Aoyama's class, but we did do cloth dying. We folded our cloth into a design and then chose colors to dye it. Lots of fun! The best part is there is no wrong way to do it haha. Dinner last night was fish,(YUMMY!) ika, salad, daikon and sweet potatoes.
TODAY was AMAZING! We went to an origami class in the morning and learned how to make a Christmas star, Santa Claus, a New Year's ornament and next week it will be a Christmas Wreath. We then were treated to lunch at a place in Okazaki park. I had MISO KATSU! OMG it was so good! The rest of the food in my bento box was okay I guess. Not by any means my favorite though. Nishio let us try the tofu dish he ordered, not a huge fan of it personally. Then we headed back to the school and to my greatest surprise and joy we had a private origami class with the teacher! It was AWESOME! We made prince and princess dolls, peach flowers and she even showed us how to make Miga (the Vancouver 2010 Olympic mascot). It was so COOL! I really hope we have origami classes every week. I've learned so much!
