So today my host mother was kind enough to give me a map to get to
Higashi-Okazaki Station, and I biked all the way there.
Took about half
an hour, the weather was nice though ^_^. I met up with Emily and Roxy
and Roxy's host mom showed us around we took the subway (totally a sky
train but smoother) to Nagoya (that took another half hour) and then we
had lunch and went to Tokyu Hands department store. I finally got a
sailor fuku! Unfortunately it's a little short in the shirt, but still,
I also found that pen I
lost 5 years ago, the one with red, black and blue pens and the white
out strip on the end. So yay! I bought lots at Tokyu Hands, there were
lots of elephant things to buy...haha. I also got one of those ink
brush pens. I biked home and then for dinner had tofu, more fish
(Japanese salmon :D), nasu (cucumber), Japanese radish (that was
okay...) and even had rice with this random seaweed topping (it was
very good).
The next day I lazed around the house and am now officially addicted to
Initial D, it's all Connor's fault...lol. Anyways, I went with my host
mom to Yahagibashi station and she showed me how to use the train to
get to Higashi-Okazaki, we went for tacoyaki and then she also showed
me how to take the bus to Aeon Mall. I bought an elephant cel phone
charm and a double highlighter pen. I looked in the Sanrio store but
everything was super super expensive. We got home had dinner which
consisted of a seaweed soup (yummy!), this really good egg/onion potato
thing, lots of salad and yam noodles I think? It was delicious! After
dinner my host mom, Tomomi (my host sister) and I went to Apita mall
where I found a hello kitty watch to buy :p and another elephant cel
phone charm (this one is a cute little wooden elephant). Oh and I also
got a better dictionary it was only $10! I have yet to get the
electronic one...I figure there's no rush for that one, they are
expensive no matter what. There were some cheap ones there, but I
wonder why they were so cheap...as in $50. Maybe it's an older model?
Anyways I watched some more Initial D and then went to sleep.
I slept in...or at least for me it was sleeping in, I woke up at
7:00am. I watched more Initial D and walked to school. We read through
the play with Yamaguchi and he gave us the rest of the play to read as
well. He also took us to Apita afterwards and I had this strawberry
cream chocolate donut and a raspberry cheese pie. Yummy! I then went to
the cafeteria and had chicken karaage mayo donburi for lunch. Once
again only $2.80! Em, Roxy and I then ended up talking or rather typing
to Mark through Skype, it was hilarious. Mark seemed to replying to
everything we said and he couldn't hear a thing...haha. I haven't
laughed that hard in a while. So thanks for that Mark! Megumi(Emily's
host sister) then took us to DAISO!!! OMG! I could have spent forever
in there...I bought a few things, a hello kitty card holder, some
really cool multicolor pens with a lead pencil built in, an eraser and
a cute pencil case that has an elephant on the front, hehe. I'm sure I
would have bought more but we didn't have enough time. We went to a
pottery class, which was interesting...super frustrating for me, I
couldn't get the hang of it, and it seemed to be taking far too long,
and as I got hungrier and hungrier, I got grumpier and grumpier, (sound
familiar :P?). We stopped at a 7 Eleven to grab food and slurpees don't
exist in Japan...haha. Anyways, I had a shrimp pasta salad. It was so
good! Money well spent, no fishy taste, hehe. I got home at around
9:30. I have a busy day tomorrow since we have to help Sasaki sensei
and Aoyama sensei with their classes tomorrow. It means I need to be at
school at 9 am and then we have our first cloth dying class tomorrow!
So we actually have a full day from 9-3:30 and then Nishio is taking us
to get our Alien Registration Cards so I can finally buy a cel phone!
Until next time!
