We gingerly pushed away from Joshua and waved goodbye to her crew as we attempted a u-turn in the narrow marina without bashing into her. Captain Libellule performed this smoothly. We motored carefully up the low tide channel back into the Bay of Biscay.

A gentle easterly breathed enough to allow a run wing-in-wing and I put out the fishing lure again. Another ladybug was spotted in the cockpit: we have had many of them and they are considered lucky. The sun shone on a gentle following swell and Pappy tried to keep both sails billowing.

So poor are my fishing skills that it was not the swarm of seagulls behind us, but rather Libellule commenting "your lure is on the surface", that tipped me off that another fish was hooked. I reeled in another long thin Orphie, again hooked through the body just behind the head. As it was lunch time, I proceeded immediately to clean it and scale it and throw it in a skillet with olive oil and herbs. It made a nice appetizer f or us and we spat the blue-green bones overboard.

The coastline was looking more and more akin to Ireland with the cliffs and coves and green trees. We made for Port Du Crouesty, where Libellule had purchased this boat about a year before. We tied up to the V.I.P. dock, and as Libellule mentioned that the night before we had rafted with Joshua, and because it is low season, we were allowed to stay. This is the nicest port ever: free internet and free showers, docks in great condition, and moorage was just 13 euros. We did abuse our V.I.P. privileges by grilling up potatoes and four massive steaks right on the dock, however.

Here is the first photo from today.

Here is the route we sailed today.
