We had a relaxed start to the day and met up with a friend/colleague of Bill's for brunch at a lovely local cafe - Cafe Mozart. We dined on NY bagels and a variety of fillings - delicious but such a huge serving! There was much catching up and sharing of news and the time passed easily. Later in the morning we headed for Central Park and walked across to the Metropolitan Museum. The last time H was in NY (1992) it was winter and the trees were bare. Central Park is so green and lush and a hive of activity as people walk dogs, relax, walk etc.
The Met museum was amazing - we spent hours there until Bill's feet could take no more. One of the many exhibits included rooms and furnishings from old French hotels. They were just stunning and so realistic with back-lit windows and doors as part of the realistic feel. We walked part of the way and then fell into a taxi for the ride back.
Dinner was with Bill's old friends - it's nice to put faces and names to people.
