After an overnight stay at a B&B in Mulligar, we visited nearby Belvedere House - a delightful hunting manor set in fabulous gardens. The weather was wet and gloomy but in many ways this added to the beauty of the place. We made good progress towards Dublin but then met a huge traffic queue for the tollway for the M1. We crawled along for over 70 mins till we paid our toll and then had to find the Hertz car return area ... Signs in Ireland are spasmodic or nill s...o trying to find places can be very frustrating. Thankfully we got to Hertz without too many dramas but unable to locate a petrol station to top up the tank! We unloaded our luggage and arranged for the shuttle bus to take us to the Radisson SAS hotel where we totally unpacked, handwashed clothes and generally prepared our elves for the US leg of our trip. The IT offered at the hotel was awful and after wasting 60 mins trying to access emails - we gave up! Technology in Ireland is not what we are used to ...
