Free to wander Prague on our own

After our introductory city tour yesterday - we felt OK to explore on our own. After a good nights sleep and a full breakie we headed off to meet the GM of the Mandarin Oriental in Mala Strana. To our delight he gave us a full tour of the hotel rooms, spa and function areas. It's a lovely property and it was wonderful to catch up on lots of news after many years. After this, we took our time and strolled with thousands of other people across King Charles bridge and into various areas of the city. The weather has been wonderful since we arrived - clear blue skies and no rain. For Aussies used to brown grass and dry land - the lushness and bright green is a welcome change. The gardens are full of lilac trees, chestnut trees and pink/red honeysuckle in flower. At times the scent is overpowering
H has had no luck with locating a dentist here. The Amercian Dental Assoc has a recorded message but after countless calls we haven't spoken to a person to try and solve the tooth problem! An email to Wendy in London will hopefully solve things ... H's new walking shoes have been wonderful - light but sturdy enough for the cobblestones! After lunch we went to the Mucha Museum full of his artist work and drawings. The Czechs are very proud people and take great pride in their strong art, music and artistic culture. So far we havent had any communication problems. The young people speak good English and we've eaten well. With all the exercise - B's BSL have been very good.
