I had a great time in Korea. Lots of sightseeing, eating and drinking...good times! I went to Korea to visit a good friend of mine, Dave Nuss. It's like Party at Nuss's again. He's far away from home and misses Mexican food like a mofo.

The first night i got to Gimhae, we went to the International Music Festival at INJE University and hung out with Dave's friends and co-workers. We had some Korean food (Oden, Cha Chiang Mein, etc.), plenty of Hite beers and Soju. After that, we went to two different restaurants and partied until dawn. The Korean drinking game is awesome. But the Soju...let me warn you, the stuff can really sneak up on you.

The next day, we visited Haeundae in Busan. There'a nice beach and a Casino there. It's a very famous vacation spot in Korea. We walked around and played a few rounds of BlackJack at the Paradise Casino. At night, we went to the U2 bar across the street from Marriott Hotel to see Olga's band play. I remember we last went to bar called Old 55. We got home at about 6:15am. I was tired...

On Sunday 5/21, Mr. Eric (one of Dave's student) took us hiking at the mountain near the apt. At the top of the mountain is a traditional Korean restaurant that serves duck meat and Dong Dong Ju. So, we had lunch there. Many "one-shots" later, Eric took us to a seafood restaurant for some live octopus. Yeah, you dip it in sesame oil source and start chewing as soon as you put it in your mouth, otherwise you'll feel the tentacle sucking on you. What a trip! Should have seen Dave's face after he had his first one. FYI, i did not try the dog soup.

On Monday, i met up with Haley and went to Beomeosa , a 1300-year old temple located eastern tip of Mt. Geumjeong. Next, we visited Geumgang Park and rode the cable car to the top of the mountain. The view of Busan city from there is breathtaking. Later, Haley took me to a Korean style spa in Gimhae for some relaxation and we met up with Dave at night to go see the Da Vinci Code at CGV.

Said bye to Nuss (Mr. Daewoo Utopia) this morning. I had a blast. That's how we roll...

I hear eating live octopus makes you a better climber! You get tentacle-like fingers!
You have to teach us the Korean drinking game!
hope you're having lots of fun still!
