Arrived in Mindo yesterday from a short bus trip from Quito. We love Mindo already, great outdoors place with sooooo much to do. I could spend all my days here just watching hummingbirds. Went to Nambillo waterfall today which was fab. There was an amazing slide there where even though it was not very high when you hit the ice cold water it took a while to get your breathe back. As we were still close to the equator we were dealing with trying to do as much in the morning as the heavens would open every afternoon. Spent the evening cooking in the open air kitchen, listening to the frogs, the river and the rest of the wildlife around. This is the life.

Started the morning in a butterfly farm where I was surrounding up at least 20 different types of butterflies. Also a cool hammock area with hummingbird feedings where I enjoyed been surrounding by the beauties. Went on the zip lines which was hard work however great fun. We were quite reserved at the beginning however after our 3rd line we had a opinion to do superman or butterfly. As butterfly sounded more graceful I decided to step it up a notch however with this butterfly there was nothing graceful about. You are in front of the guide hanging upside down with your legs apart and them behind you looking down at your crutch. Very ladylike.

Tubing today, with both Bern and mine first experience on any kind of rapids. Cannot really say that it was scary apart from been wet from head to toe with ice cold water. Once again was a whole lot of fun. Had a chilled out night in hammocks back at the hostel. Bern is starting to get a cold and his was not very happy.

As Bern was still not feel that well I went into town and found him him favorite bread in Ecuador, some eggs, black pudding & some local cheese and cooked up a feast. Had a relaxing day and only ventured out to a little cafe only 1 minute from our hostel that did chocolate demos. Good chocolate in South America is like rocking horse poo in South America so this was such a treat. I am more a savory girl than a sweet however the chocolate brownie you got as part of the tour was to die for as well as the chocolate homemade ice cream. Returning back to Quito tomorrow as making a move to another country. Columbia, here we come.

Updating the blog on a computer that has detected a virus so need to wait until we can get onto a computer that is safe before we upload any new pics. Sorry guys and girls.
