Arrived in Cuenca on the 28th June with the intention of getting to a doctor for Bernie & to see about some last minute trips to Galapagos. The city itself is beautiful, so clean, lovely people, cheap lunches & it does not seem to have as much hustle & bustle of other big cities. I think the whole time we were there we only heard about 2 car horns. We only found a couple of tour agencies for the Galapagos trips so we have decided to leave it until Quito for more research. The doctor gave Bern some drugs & we made our way out of Cuenca to Banos on the 1st July when Bern was feeling better. The lady of the hostel that we were staying at was so lovely, once she heard Bern was sick she was making up some homemade drink for his belly problems. Carlos who also worked in the hostel (who´s English was amazing) came to our room to say that he wanted to show us around but could not as he was busy. We are just loving the people in Ecuador, so caring without wanting anything in return. Also very excited about our latest purchase, some hammocks in preparation for Columbia.
