. On the trip it was a common to not have enough room to get through the river that we look alot of branches, leaves etc with us. Some parts were great as we spotted the pink river dolphins & alligators that we asked ourselves if we needed to do another jungle trip after all. We made it to the second bus just before the sun went down & we had all enjoyed the sunset. It, of course was just in time for the mossies to come out & eat us alive. After asking the bus driver how long for the next leg was & the only answer we got was mas tardes which translates to much later. This was the time that we did not apprecite been at the front of the bus. The bus driver really enjoyed his music & he thought it would be rude not to share it with all the people on the bus so we listened to Salsa & Cumbia music for the whole 12 hour bus ride. There was only 1 CD I think he owned & it had 160 tracks on it which of course was set up to repeat. The music part I could deal with however when he frequently took his hands off the steering wheel to clap alone to the tunes while overtaking a truck I was a little worried. As no one on the bus could sleep we spent the next 12 hours saying a little prayer & smoking out the bus windows. We were also sure that the bus driver was on more than just coca leaves. Anyway after 20 hours we arrived in Rurrenabaque & made a beeline for Hotel los Tucanes de Rurre. After checking out the rooms & been told that they had internet & hot showers we paid for our rooms & grabbed our towels & headed to the shower room only to find out that there was no water
. We thought OK we go on & check our emails, no internet. I think there is a reason why they take the money up front. We went in search of breakfast & found a nicer hostel to check into tommorrow. Back to the hostel we slept in hammocks for a couple of hours & then hit a bar with half price cocktails. Came back to the hostel quite late & had the whole double bed to myself as Bernie was chiling in a hammock & feel asleep. 4am he came & woke me. If I would have known this I would have got a single room & saved some money. :-)
Happy days!!!!! Loving the traveling life!!!
Hope everyone is happy & healthy!!

Arrived at the bus station at 9 for our bus with Empanadas in hand for our 12 hour bus trip. We should have thought that there was something not right when there were about 8 men on the bus that worked for the company. The excitement started 45 minutes after the bus set off when it pulled up at a river bank & started off loading all the luggage & the passengers. We were informed 3 times that it was a direct bus & there were no bus changes however we did not ask if we needed to change onto a small boat. We could see the other side of the river bank & we thought that it was just a river crossing however 7 hours later of sitting on the the floor of the boat (there was not enough space as the luggage also had to go with us including an oven), having our whole bodies covered with leaves, twigs, bugs, dirt & some sunburn we arrived to our 2nd bus. The river part of the trip included lot of work from the men who worked there as it was not a path that looked like it was well trodden & some parts were too shallow & they needed to get out & pull us through the mud
