Where I stayed
. Found a cheap hostel (6 pounds for the 2 of us) which was fine for 1 night however the standards were alot lower than Santa Cruz for the same amount of money. We all braved a shower which had green algae covered all over the shower heads but we did not care as we all needed a cold shower due to the heat. Bern & myself feel in love with Trinidad, the people were so friendly & happy, all the taxis were motorbikes & we were happy to be in a sleepy town again. We were also getting excited about been very close to the jungle. Did not realise before we headed to Trinidad but we were getting missed stories on whether the road is open or not to get to Rurrenabaque. In the end had to pay 15 pounds for the bus trip which I know is not alot of money however it is double what we should have paid. We had confirmation that the road was open from the bus company (Flota Vaca Diez) & that it was only a 12 hour bus trip. It was a big fat lie but it was an adventure!!!!
Booking our bus tickets with a more expensive bus company we all felt very safe with Trans Copacobana however little did we know that Bern & the 2 German girls (Leonie & Miriam) were so close to death. Traveling along the road, enjoying our front seats (above the bus driver) & extra leg room & then we all froze when there was a large bang. A piece of wood smashed into the front window from a passing truck & sprayed small pieces of glass over the girls. The only thing that prevented the whole window smashing & the wood hitting someone was that it connected with the metal support on the side of the window. The positive was that it allowed a bit of a breeze into the bus. The AC was very state of the art which consisted of leaving the bus door open. The bus also had flat screen TVīs in it which we were excited about however for some reason we saw 5 minutes of the godīs must be crazy in Spanish & than nada. Arriving in Trinidad at 7am & it was already 35 degrees. We were dying with our 20 kg packs
