Hola Chicos,

We have managed to drag ourselves away from Mendoza and although initially decided on Tucuman we caught a bus not long after arriving to Cafayate.
The journey from Mendoza i think is the worst so far, the bus was crap and it all felt pretty dodgy even our seats didnt work (Tam was fuming all the way). I  was nearly lynched after sneaking a smoke in the toilet which was just filtered through the air con into 1st class, haha i can laugh now but at the time i was pretty scared, luckily Tam was so angry about feeling ripped off she let it go pretty quick.
The bus journey to Cafayate alone was worth it, the scenery was pretty amazing winding our way through plush green valleys before going over the top to something straight out of an old western. Huge Cacti dotted all over with dried up riverbeds, not a cloud in sight and an immediate temp change.
We started the morning with a couple of wine tours with free tastings, can you believe it FREE!!!
Tam was full of cold and we had a tour arranged for the afternoon so it was not the time to drink, I was pretty gutted. And to top it all off the price of a bottle was around 10quid!!!! Haha it would prolly cost 50 in the uk, it was nectar.
So we started with a tour to Quebrada De Cafayate in a minibus full of gringos and a tour guide who spoke not 1 word of anything other than spanish. This we expected but whenever we stopped and he gave us the speel it was hilarious to look at every1īs expressions.
The tour was stunning, it wouldīve been nice to know a bit of the geology but the scenery spoke for itself. We arrived back at the hostel at about 8pm very thirsty and dusty, after a frantic search around town we managed to find somewhere to buy beer(it was sunday).
Checked out the next morning and jumped on a bus heading to Salta.

The predominant theme in all of these travels seems to be the copious wine consumption taking place. Take thousands of photos so you will be able to remember some of this trip in a few months time! Enjoying your blogs. Take care xxxx
