I spent two days back to back in Benalmadena, which is actually just a few train stops away.

Day 1

Cable car ride...see terror in the sky entry tonight

Tapas Restaurant

On that day I found this amazing authentic tapas restaurant, it was a Friday at 230 the beginning of siesta for the was jammin. I recorded video to share the vibe of this place with you because it was contagious. It called at me from the street I was the only tourist there. The owner, staff and customers seemed to embrace me seamlessly as I came inside. There was a high top table for one in the corner with my name on it waiting for me. There was a mix of young and old at this establishment, the retired and wise and the young and trendy. It was a perfect lunch. I people watched and smiled as I "listened" in on their conversations. The owner came over personally and helped me order. We decided on Iberian Jamon (ham) and Gambas (peel and eat shrimp on rock salt) I made "friends" with the 3 old men sitting at the high top table next to by sharing my jamon with them. If the vibe of this place wasn't good enough....the food was amazing. I savoured every bite. I was loving it. The shrimp even came with the legs and heads on (fresh out of the sea tasting) and I didn't even mind. I ripped em' right off and was in heaven.

 Paloma Park

After lunch I walked to Paloma Park about mile, which I was like, big deal a park, what am I going to do there...I didn't bring a book, I'm not going to just sit here and think, but I knew I could walk through it to get to the ocean front so I did. To my surprise, I was amazed immediately at the sculptures (see pictures). Then all of a sudden I saw this woman bend down and a rabbit come hoping over to her and eat right out of her hand. I was like "No freaking way!" I quickly realized this park was something special because as I looked up from the lady and the rabbit, I saw an awesomely color'd peacock elegantly crossing my path just like that....roaming freely. Amazing. I felt like I was in some kind of wonderland. I continued down the path and three doves flew past me one landing in front of me to pick up some bread crumbs someone had left. No way, I had never seen doves in nature before.  All in all I saw every kinda duck I could think existed, as well as roosters and swans and of course the doves, peacocks, and rabbits. Check out the pictures. Definitely a wonderful peacefully park to stop at.

Day 2
Gareth and I took a boat from a port of Fuengirola to Benamaldena marina to get a view of the coastline. Check out the pictures they’re great. We arrived at the Benamaldena marina which has a unique cream-washed Arabic stone architecture to it.

And guess what....we got to eat at my new favourite tapas restaurant again. This time trying even more food because Gareth was with me. Yeah!

So, does this seem like a place you'd like to have lunch? What would you order? Don't forget to leave your comments the buttons after the pictures, there you will see the tbale of contents for all the entries in this blog as well.
