For the Boys,

Took a scooter out today, what great fun, no shirt, no helmet, stinking hot on the windy palm fringed roads, zooming though sleepy villages, down into hidden little coves, with very little traffic to bother us, and chugging up every hill we came to, holding our breath and hoping the little bike would carry us up and over. We passed a bunch of elephants tethered by the road, a collection of temples, and stray dogs left in our wake as we drifted further north on Ko Phangan, with no destination in mind. In the afternoon we found a secluded beach, well known as a snorkeling place, a stretch of sand connecting the mainland to a small island. The most amazing fish, big and small, the sun was scorching our backs and we stayed way to long before riding the bike back to our beach house for dinner.

For the Girls

This morning we decided to try a beach massage, and oh my gawd! how good was that, lying on a timber platform above the sand, looking out over the blue water, fishing boats, and an endless horizon. The Thai girls didn't speak a word on English, but we managed to sort things out with pointing and using the hand skills we had learnt on Lygon street. 60 minutes of firm hands, oils and a combination of hard pressure and long strong stokes had us wanting to nod off, but also, not wanting to miss a thing. All in all it was well worth the $10 spent.
