Paradise lost, and paradise found again!

Well dear reader, its been a few days now, and although it feels like no a lot has happened, a lot really has!
Since my last confession, ooops,,, I mean blog entry, we have been on Ko Samui for 3 days, staying at the small village of Baan Maenam, filled with a sprinkling of European tourists and eateries, but still holding on to its Thai village atmosphere (just). Yesterday we boarded a small boat and traveled across to Ko Pha Ngan, a real wilderness of hidden bays, empty beaches and calm water. We had decided to stay on the hippy-style beach of Haad Sadet, in bungalows deprived of mobile phone coverage, internet, and where they only have the electricity on for 10 hours each day. Paradise is gorgeous, but paradise sucks at 2am when your busting for a pee in the dark, the fans are useless and the giant water rats are stealing your bananas and doing their own version of "so you think you can dance" on our tin roof! Ok, they weren't giant water rats as it turned out, but some kind of weird mutant jumping squirrel/possum, but still, it looked at me with evil intent! So 3 nights in paradise turned into 1 night, and after a crazy 45 minutes ride through the jungle along red clay roads and pouring monsoon rains we found ourselves in a gorgeous spot on the other side of the island that more closely resembles a Buddhist retreat, right on the beach, with a hammock hanging between tree's, Thai day beds on elevated platforms for relaxing on, a small village nearby and internet on request! This is Paradise Version 2.0

Hi guys, you don't like dancing on the roof at night? That's free entertainment! Sounds like you have found a great spot over there, post more pics!
Your loving sis, Samantha
