Rabbit Island to Gocek / Sixth Day Aboard Yacht

One last day of excitement aboard the Holiday 10. After breakfast we swim and snorkel before calling out the main entertainment. We treat some of the crewmembers to another ride on the big banana, and then three of us take another turn at water skiing. This time I get up on the first try, and don't fall once until I return to the yacht. I even manage to ski outside the wake!

Every hour that passes becomes more precious than the one that went before, as we know our wonderful cruise is swiftly nearing its end. Another great lunch is devoured in a fairly secluded bay, then one last swim before heading toward our final docking point at the small village of Gocek 01 Boarding the Banana

. We finally convince our tour guide to join us in jumping off the side of the ship. He has always been afraid of heights, and this took guts! After a final leap from the bowsprit, three of us triumphantly wave our swimming trunks over our head from the water. The crew is quite amused.

Gocek is very tourist oriented. We dock and head unto town for some shopping. I purchase a detailed map of the area, and later ask the captain to record our route by drawing a magic marker line and indicating our anchorages. We find a barber, and I experience my first ever straight razor barbershop shave. It feels fantastic!

While my deaf client is getting shaved I race out to purchase a farewell gift for the clients. It is the blue Turkish lucky eye on a necklace. The final dinner aboard ship is fantastic, with more dishes than I can recount. It featured a meatball and potato and vegetable stew of sorts, but my favorite dish contained lots of green olives. A riot for the taste buds!

Right after dinner I distribute the client awards, and then present the crew with their collective tip from the group members. A champagne toast concludes the festivities, and the gay flag is lowered. We walk into town again for one more drink together before returning to the ship to pack. I think I can safely say that everyone will miss the camaraderie of shipboard life!
