Homeward Bound via San Francisco
Dear Readers:
I am dead asleep when my alarm goes off this morning, but I am happy to drag out of bed with thoughts of heading home. "There's no place like home, there's no place like home!"
Traffic is a nightmare and the Beijing skies are thick with smog. I really cannot imagine how the athletes at next year's Olympics will fare in this air.
Check-in goes smoothly, and I spend my last Yuan at the duty-free lounge. I am able to get a free wireless internet connection in the business lounge, although it is painfully slow. I answer mail and read news until my flight boards at 11:15am.
I land in San Francisco a few minutes early. Great to be back in the States! I don't have much to report regarding the flight from Beijing to San Francisco. I had a seat empty next to me, so I could really spread out and make myself comfortable. I probably got about five hours of sleep on the 11-hour flight. On to Chicago in just an hour!
Hugs,
Dan
