Dear Readers:

My flight was a little late getting into Frankfurt, but flying first class you don't have to stress. I was the first one off the plane and there was a uniformed man holding a sign with my name on it. He took me directly down onto the tarmac at the gate, and put me into a really nice black sedan, and drove me from terminal A to terminal B to catch my next flight, which was just about to board. He took me right up to the front of the line, and let me go onto the plane ahead of everybody else.

Flying from Frankfurt to Delhi I was in the upper deck of a 747, where there were a total of 16 seats in first class -- 2 on each side of the aisle. I was sitting beside a really interesting guy who works for the World Bank, and who was coming to India to implement their programs for combatting the rising AIDS epidemic here. (Lots more intravenous drug users than ever before, and the disease is taking off that way and along trucking routes, where the drivers are sleeping their way across country). On both planes the seats laid perfectly flat into beds. They even give you pajamas, and heavy blankets. It isn't like you are flying anymore. It is like you are in a fine restaurant where they let you go to bed right after you eat! Isn't that what we all want to do anyway, whenever we have a great meal . . . just loosen those tight pants and get comfy!

I got another 3 to 4 hours sleep from Frankfurt to Delhi. Total flying time was 8 hours to Frankfurt from Chicago, and then a tight connection, and another 7 hours flying time to here. I am 10.5 hours ahead of Chicago time. Right now it is 4:45pm on Friday in Chicago. It is 3:15am on Saturday morning here.

Hugs,
Dan
