It is raining intermittently today, but that can't stop us from enjoying a magnificent excursion into the countryside to the town of Pushkin to visit the fabulous Catherine Palace, and to nearby Pavlovsk to see the Palace that Catherine the Great built for her son Paul and his wife Maria. This is my first time to the Pavlovsk Palace, and it has become my new favorite, as it has a much more lived-in feel than the ostentatious Catherine Palace in Pushkin. We have lunch at a cute place named Russky Chaj, and are fabulously entertained by some folk singers. Off to the ballet tonight!
