This morning we welcomed Gary and Derek to the tour.  They finally made it after several hiccups along the way.  The entire group is together at last. We left the hotel around 11 am this morning.  We had an excellent guide who spoke very good English and provided excellent commentary.  She was able to answer all of our questions and then some.  We visited Prague Castle, The Old Town, The Jewish Quarter and concluded the tour in Wenceslas Square. While all that we saw today was impressive, the highlight of today's tour was without doubt the Prague Castle area. The castle dates back to the 9th century and was expanded several times until the second half of the 18th century. Prague Castle is an ancient symbol of the Czech lands.  It is the most significant Czech monument and one of the most important cultural institutions in the Czech Republic.  According to the Guinness Book of World Records this is the largest castle (complex) in the world.  It is a UNESCO world heritage site. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept here.  The castle itself houses a complex of sights including the St. Vitus Cathedral and the St. George's Basilica. We enjoyed the all the castle area had to offer:  rich history, interesting architecture, stunning views, handsome guards and so much much more. We even got to see a golden penis!
