Okay, so this entry will be quite brief.  It's been a couple of days.  I'm still going, but dog tired.  I have more to discuss from the last couple of days, but haven't had a chance to sit down and process it all yet.  I actually took a few naps on the bus the last couple of days, which is really rare for me, and that's when I've been typing my entries. So, hopefully I can do some writing tomorrow afternoon on the train to Berlin.

Tonight is our last night on the group tour.  I'm putting everyone on the plane in the morning, and then I'm heading myself to the train station at Frankfurt Airport to catch my train to Berlin where I'll spend the next week.  My trip to Berlin is two-fold.  One, to visit with my friends Silja and David.  Two, to submit my application for a visa to Iran.  Not a lot of sightseeting to be going on, but I'm still going to try to hunt some things down in Berlin that I haven't done before.  I've spent quite a bit of time there this past summer and the summer before that, so I've actually seen all the touristy stuff.  Now I get to really sink my teeth in and get to know the character of the city, which is always more enjoyable but takes more time.  I've been to Paris 24 times now, but it is only in the last year or so that I've truly fallen in love with the city.  That's because every other time, I was only there for 2-3 days at a time, doing the tourist thing.  The last two years, though, I've been able to spend about 9 days at a time there, so I could peel back the layers and layers of life in the city to see what it's really all about.  Now I can do the same in Berlin, which is surprisingly a really fun city.  It's totally different from what it was like even 10 years ago, when I was there for the first time.  Plus, staying with great friends like Silja (who grew up in the west) and David (who grew up in the East) makes it all the more fun!!

Hopefully I'll have a real entry tomorrow or the next day!

Ware, your blog is awesome! I had such a great time on that trip (as well as the one last year), and it's pretty cool to read through and remember stuff from the trip that I haven't thought about in a couple months. And, of course I have pictures of most of the same things that you have up on here, but yours are absolutely gorgeous! I had such a great time on both trips (even if I was sick somewhere each time) and I'm still *hoping* I'll get to travel with you to Ghana next year (but we'll see about that....)
