Up nice and early to catch bus from the Rodavoria in Rio.  It was our first time to wear the rucksacks properly and it was so much fun carrying 22kg on our backs!

Got taxi to the station and purchased tickets handy enough.  Our lack of the Portuguese language has been overcome by drawing really cool pictures of buses and stretching out our arms pretending were aeroplanes.

Bus Eireann/CIE or Iarnrod Eireann should take a little trip out to Brazil to see how to run a bus/train station.  The Brazilians really show us up at home, even though half their population you could say live in poverty.  If the Brazilian bus companies are like the one we got to Buzios then I think I will easily overcome my hatred for public transport.  I think that hatred only comes from turning right in Tuam and heading for Dunmore when heading up to Sligo on Bus Eireann.  Its the only town in Ireland that should be nuked.  Nothing against the people of Dunmore though!

Anyways, bus journey to Buzios was fine.  We said a decade of the rosary that the sun would shine and as we got closer to Buzios we thought our prayers might be working!  Arrived in Buzios around half 12 and headed straight for the Pousada (Guest House).  Guidebook said that Buzios is the St. Tropez of Brazil, but on first impressions it looked like Bundoran on a sunny day without the Waterworld.  But as we got closer to the the Centro that all changed.  Streets and roads are all cobble stoned and rattle the shite out of you when riding in a taxi.

Eventually made it to the guest house, where we were greeted by this old bag who was so rude and condesending.  We have given her the name ´Fucked Face´ because she looks like Peig who had a few sessions of plastic surgery.  We were fit to be tied, but the place is perfect so we didn´t bother saying anything to her.  On the other side, we met David who we think is the poor unfortunate who is married to her.

Headed down to Buzios that night for a bite to eat and look around.  Its hard to believe that we were in Rio this morning because its a different world out here.  Streets feel safer and people are more relaxed and chilled out.  We even stayed out till 11pm!  Way past our bed time of 8pm in Rio!
