For our last few days in New York we drove upstate to visit Jon's family. One aunt, one uncle, three cousins, 3 cousin spouses, 4 (small and all girl) cousins once removed, and 6 dogs!! A bunch of wonderful, fun, crazy, lovely people and pets.

It was his aunt Marcia and uncle Paul's 50th wedding anniversary so everyone came up to celebrate!  For us the highlight was ice skating on the frozen pond on their property. (There is a video of this but I haven't figured out how to upload it yet).  We tried to play with the hockey sticks but Lily kept stealing the puck! Sadie and Lily practiced "falling" and Lara showed us all how it was really done.  We had a delicious dinner at the Dorsett Inn where the majority of our party ordered the calf's liver entree. (I think I'll save my stomach for Asia)  The 'girls' befriended our waiter Patrick and were very impressed with his Chinese checkers skills.  The night began and ended with a dance party accompanied by some harmonicas and an accordion.   This trip was a wonderful opportunity for us to spend some last moments with some of our favorite people on earth.  Thank you Paul, Marcia, Brian, Cheryl, Sadie, Lily, Matt, Lara, Pixie, Julie, Paul, Violet!!! (oh and of course, Peaches, Vinnie, Burt, Beatrice, Wisteria, Fiorello. Woof!)
