Birthdays, Goodbyes, Packing Up

Back up to Perth for a few days before my flight; Campbell's parents have kindly agreed to let me stay at their place until I fly out. Tuesday was Campbell's 26th birthday, so there was a big family dinner to celebrate followed by the two of us going to see Canadian musician and mathematics phD Caribou (previously known as "Manitoba") perform at a little bar in downtown Perth. It was a good show. In the morning Campbell had to head off to drive back to work (lots of driving on his vacation, poor guy) while I hunkered in for three days of rest and dog-walking. I spent a bit of time in Freo and bit of time wandering around Cottesloe but mostly just writing in my journal, sleeping, reading and lazing about. One part of my trip is coming to an end here, in a sense, although I'll be back in Perth in like two months to go north again (I have the weirdest itinerary).
