The last day of school and I documented the walk with photos this morning and really enjoyed it.

I thought I might have it easy today in class before the final exam but Samuel pushed us into the next level book having us finish in level 11 out of 12. The final exam was an essay I had to write on a social problem that he gave me. I had to use both the indicative and subjunctive modes and various tenses of each in addressing the issue. An hour and a half later I finished and received a 95% grade. Afterward, we had the graduation and four of us received certificates. I had told my instructor my plan to say "Viva El Presidente Bush" and he was completely stressed out. He told the other instructors my plan and, later he told me, that they said "Is he crazy? He'll never get out of here alive!" Anyway, when I was presented my certificate and told to speak, Samuel was at my side and, whispering and begging me not to say it. I laughed and told him to relax. I just thanked a few people and sat down.

After class, my Intercambio student, Carolina came to the school to say goodbye.

I was really touched by her making a special effort to visit me. She made me some Spanish music CDs in appreciation for the CDs I made for her.

Then I went to Jimmy's store and he drove me around town looking for a Bimbo shirt. He really wanted to help me find one. We visited several stores but could not find any but the authentic Bimbo soccer team shirt of the best team in Costa Rica. Bimbo is their sponsor and they wear a proud BIMBO across the front. However, I didn't want to spend $40 just for a laugh.

Then it was on to the house of one of the students. An American now living in Costa Rica. She invited several people over for a dinner party and it was really nice. Great food, nice people, and I got a free ride to the airport this morning. At least, I hope he shows up in a couple of hours. I have to leave for the airport at 3:30 a.m. for a 6:30 flight and one of the husbands of the guests is a taxi driver and he volunteered to come and pick me up and take me to the airport, a 30-minute drive. The Ticos are really nice people if you take the time to get to know them.

Right now, it is a little after midnight. There is no sense in going to bed. I have to get up in a couple of hours to shower and finish packing so I guess I'll just take a siesta and kill time until it is time to go. I hope the flight is on time and customs goes well.

Next stop - Wichita, Kansas
