Monday is a Buddhist Holiday (full moon before Buddhist Lent), so with a  3 day weekend I took a road trip on the Honda 125 to Mae Sariang, a 6 hour bike ride (220 kilometers) through the most beautiful mountainous countryside.

Stayed at the Riverside Inn for 300 baht, the only place around that has cushions on its seats.  Nice private balcony overlooking the Salween River. Ate Issan (NE Thai) food and took a vacation from Mae Sot.

Also in the mix are photos of Brown Dog and Poodle, my two dog pals on my street. They are also the best of friends and often visit me together.  Poodle thinks he is a german shepherd.

About 70 kilometers of  north of Mae Sot is the gianoramous refugee camp of Mae La. You cannot get in without a pass and I did not have a pass for that date, so I just took pics from the highway. There are about 70,000 Burmese refugees living there.

Back home now after 3 days and 2 nights in Mae Sariang.  Nursing a slightly sore butt, but it was worth it. Enjoy the pics.

You look pretty good my friend glad to see you have color in your face and a sparkle in your eye. I remember the singularly most blissful day of my life (so far) sitting in a chair much like the one in your pics watching the mountains in Burma. They never stole one on our watch.
